Sorry

Hey everyone! I have decided to take a little blogging break for a couple of weeks. I'm needing to catch up on a lot of things and not posting for awhile will help me accomplish that! Also, I've decided not to open a photography blog, at least not now maybe next year. I hope you all understand, but I need take a break for a little while. So, feel free to look at older posts!

Josie

It's Over.

It’s over. The play I was in “It’s a Wonderful Life” did its last performance yesterday…. And I’m really rather sad about it, but you have to be done w/ one show before you go on to the next one, right?

But I had so much fun and made a lot of new friends and I hope I can see again through future productions.

It was kind of funny but my character had the more costumes and accessories than most of my cast mates… It took a while to check it all back in on Sunday.

But there was one fur coat I will most definitely NOT miss. I was a really pretty coat, like velvet and a huge fur collar and was a couple sizes too small! I wore it in like 3 scenes and I didn’t like it. : P and my red dresses will be kind of missed, but I did wear a lot of red! Red and black were my colors in Act I. And also my hats were fun, if you like hats falling off your head while onstage, but it added spontaneity to each show :P

That's all for now, I hope to be back to posting regularly soon!
Love,
Josie

Miscellaneous

I'm sorry for my lack of posts, but life can get crazy! So this is going to be a hodge-podge post, just be warned! :P

1.) my birthday was yesterday! I turned 14 and it was like the best birthday I've ever had! Everyone actually remembered it was my birthday {people sometimes forget} and I was sung the "Happy Birthday" song three times...Once at my percussion class, four little girls from the pay sang to me at the cast party {more on that later}, and everyone from the cast party sang as well. At the last time, I almost cried 'cause it was all so sweet. I had so much fun! The people in my cast are the best! :)

2.) 5 dozen cupcakes are alot of cupcakes to frost all by hand! :) I took cupcakes to Delta and to the cast party...Everyone seemed to like them!

3.) cast parties are the best! We had one at the lady who plays "Ma Bailey" 's house and it was a blast to just hang out and talk to all the people I've come to know and appreciate over the course of 8 weeks. Sadly, that time is coming to a close..... :(

4.) our performances are going very well, this Saturday and Sunday are THIS CLOSE to being sold out...which is great but very nerve-wrecking! And Sunday is going to be awesome because my family and Bridge's family are coming and also 3 friends of mine are coming. Tonight, Sat. possibly some other friends are coming {if they can get tickets}

5.) a cold is  going around the cast, which is very bad! Our Mr. Potter's voice last night was terrible. He had gotten the cold and he couldn't project well enough so they microphoned him and it helped a little but he still sounded really sick. I feel really sorry for him. But I have the feeling I have a touch of it and this morning I had tea w/ lots of honey and some garlic o help w/ it. I feel fine but I think I'll get sick after it's all over. Oh, well....

I hope I haven't bored you all, but  hope to get back to posting more regularly after Sunday!
Love,
Josie

Thank-You All!

I just wanted to let you all know that last night, opening night for my play went really well! I did puke, but I thought I came close once. My friend in the play and Bridget were all so supportive and wonderful! And I also want to thank you all for the lovely messages and comments! :)

I have 5 more performances to go and I'm going to be very sad when it's all over, but I'm going to live in the moment and have a great time at it!

Tonight's the cast party and I'm hoping to take lot's of pictures! But before last night's performance I went around taking pictures to help relax and here's what I got: *NOTE* the reason why I'm in hot rollers and in a big, pink bathrobe is that I was cold and my hair was curling...No, I didn't go onstage like that! :P

Whimsical...

whim·si·cal [wímzik'l, hwímzik'l]

1. fanciful: imaginative and impulsive
2. amusing: slightly odd or playfully humorous, especially in an endearing way
3. erratic or unpredictable: behaving in a way that is impossible to predict

These pictures seem to be whimsical to me, like those inspirational/vintage pictures you can find online...
So take a peek:

On Saturday two of my little sisters were drawing with chalk out on our path to the front door and on one of the steps up to the front door. So, if you ever come to my house right now, wipe your feet after you walk up those steps! :P

Rehearsal Fun

Yesterday we had an early rehearsal and there was a potluck and I brought cheesy potatoes {my favorite potluck dish!} and tried to take as many pictures as I thought I should. I still don't have very many good ones :(  But I still have 2 weeks. But have a look!

They got the marquee up! :)

Bridget and I in front of the marquee

                                                  Damien {"Mr. Martini" and "Harry"} and I {man, it's grainy....}

Bridget and I...again :P

I hope you all enjoyed these pictures, hopefully more to come...

On a sad note, my sister lost one of her angora goats yesterday. We think she died because she ate a plastic tie that she had found somewhere. It's Gabbi's first "big" animal to die {no, goldfish don't count}, so if you could keep her in your prayers, that'd be very appreciated. :)

I've decided I'm going to wait to launch my photography blog, "Still Memories". And then I'll launch it on January 1st, 2011. I just wanted to let you all know about that....

Love,
Josie

Backdrops {My New Technique}

Wow, I haven't posted for awhile! *Sorry* I just been so busy, it's insane...Rehearsals every night, and I had a history exam to study for and well, life jut happens. ;)

But I have been experimenting w/ backdrops... I was trying to figure out how to do backdrops that I can make and use easily. The result ended up using table clothes and and huge roll of white paper draped over our massive food dehydrator. And it work really well. I just set it up facing a window {but that day was cloudy and you can kind of tell, but I'll try again on a sunny day.

You want to see? Take a look!

I used a table cloth for this one

The rest I used a roll of white paper

Rehearsals  for "It's a Wonderful Life" are going well, we are now running through the whole thing, and opening night is this coming up Friday! AAH! It's really sad to thin that I only have 2 more weeks to hang w/ all my new friends in the play...

                                                                      Bridget and I

A scene from the back of the stage

Mike aka "Clarence"... He's a hoot!

Me in my play makeup, I'm just missing my fire engine red lipstick :P

Tonight is another rehearsal and before it a potluck, so I'm hoping to take allot of pictures! :)

Have any of you read "The Visitation" by Frank Peretti? If you ah isn't it great!? I read it withing 2 ays, and it's a 519 page book, I'm a little weird like that. :P But it was so good! "The Oath" by Frank Perretti is really good aswell....

                                                                     Talk to you all later!
                                                                                    Love,
                                                                                    Josie

"Violet" Make-Up

I don't normally wear make-up...Now, I'll be wearing it every night for the next 2 weeks. It's definitely going to take some getting used to it though! The reason I don't normally wear make-up is that I never really wanted to, but my director said that for me to be more "Violet" I need to wear make-up: BRIGHT red lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, the works. So after rehearsals on Monday, Mommy, Bridget and I went to Walgreens on the way home... Ad they were all so pretty and new, especially the lipstick...

The smoothness of it was amazing, the texture as well......

I REALLY need to take ore pictures at rehearsals, but I'm going to get very busy... I'm going to start wearing my costumes on Thursday, so I don't have as much free time during rehearsals....But I will try for all of you! :) Oh! And there will be pictres of me w/ my make-up on soon! :)
Love,
Josie

Frosted Beauty

Yesterday morning, right after breakfast, I peered out the window and saw frost {normally all the frost is gone by the time I'm up, so this was really neat}...It looked more like snow because there was so much of it all over! I quickly grabbed the camera and dashed outside {not bothering to put on shoes}and here's what I got...

My multi-colored socks :P

                                                                 This one is my fav!
