But I do want to shout out to all our military and anyone who knows someone in the military or are a family member. Thanks for sacrificing soooo much to protect our freedoms!

Watch this to understand the title {It's tobyMac}

Phantom of The Opera Pt.2

Hiya! How you doing’? I hope the answer is “yes!” :D

Today {Thurs. is when I’m writing this} I had the opportunity to see Broadways longest running musical in history {It’s been on Broadway consecutively for about 22 years! Wow!} I’m talkin’ ‘bout Phantom of the Opera ! It was sooo good! I loved it! I highly recommend it.

So, I though maybe you’d like to hear my thoughts on the amazing musical.

The sets and the curtains {Yes, I did say curtains} were amazing. The curtains I’m talking about are let down in the stage area. They had about 4 or 5 different curtains. All them were made up of gorgeous fabrics of different colors and textures. And after it was over, I got to see the chandelier {The curtain was up and all the set pieces were viewable from the auditorium} That thing was way cool! It’s huge! One of the best set pieces I’ve seen onstage.

The costumes! Oh, one of the wonderful things of theater is the costumes! Christine’s costumes were gorgeous. My favorite one was the robe she wears when the Phantom takes her to his labyrinth underneath the opera house. I so want to make it. The dresses that Carlotta and Christine wore all had full skirts and bustles. I believe my Mom said they were clothing of the Edwardian Era. Any who, they were cool!

The actors bring characters to life within these wonderful stories people write for the stage. There were quite a few onstage today. The Phantom is played by Tim Martin Gleason on this tour {He’s taken on the role of Roual in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway or on tour for about 7 years.} Well, we got to the theater, sat down and realized that the understudy was playing the Phantom today. His name is Stephen Tewksbury, and he was really good! His voice was great, thought not as great as Michael Crawford! :D {I LOVE Michael Crawford’s voice! Listen to one of his Cds sometime and you’ll see what I mean. He also played the original Phantom in 1988} The guy who played Raoul {Sean MacLaghlin} was good as well. His voice wasn’t stunning but wasn’t terrible either. Christine {Trista Moldovan}, well, she had a lot of vibrato in her voice. I don’t if that’s how she sings or if Christine is supposed to sing like a opera actor. I didn’t like her voice, but that’s just me. Though she was very pretty. Her smile was dazzling.

Emotional things, well it made me cry more than once! :P I saw Lion King at the Wharton Center last year and the first song {“Circle of Life”} made me cry. I have no idea why, it’s one of the happiest songs in the musical. But I still cried. Not because I was sad, jus because I was happy and it was breathtaking. Phantom.. was no exception! I cried during the “Overture” {Have you ever listened to it? It’s powerful music played by an organ!} and that scene was awesome! The second time was at the end {I don’t know who would not cry then} Oh my, that was heartbreaking when the Phantom lets Raoul and Christine go, and he disappears. It’s just sad and I like it like that :D

Well, that’s all I have to SAY but I have things to show you….

Goofing off in the car…

Mug Shot :P

iElect at the INCH Convention

So, how have you been? I’ve been pretty good. This past week end I was part of a mock election at the INCH Convention in Lansing, MI. I know I said I wasn’t to excited for it, but on Thurs. night I was getting excited. When we got to the Lansing Center {Where the convention was held} and I saw a whole bunch of people walking around, to me it looked like a airport.

But then I realized that all those people I saw {there were a lot of them} all either were home schooled or home school their children! Wow! Well, after we got into the building, G and I headed up to the iElect. As G and I sat at a table, other teens trickled in to the room. Then we were spilt into two “Parties” , the GOLD team and the BLUE party. Then we got into Cacuses of about 5 people and figured out our platform, then after we figured out the platform the main people from each cacus came together and complied a list of 10 things that we wanted to change and put into effect in the U.S. this was the result of many bunny trails and then re-focusing:

*To get rid of abortion
*To support Isreal {It is God’s chosen people’s land and we should protect it}
*Bible classes as a option in the public schools
*the right to bear arms
*Support Government Workers
*To get rid of welfare {It is the Church’s job to help the people who get welfare}
*To protect the religious freedoms we have in the U.S.

This was the list, and we chose who we wanted to run for President and Vice president for our Blue party. These are the people we chose:
Tori for Vice-Pres.

And Ryan for Pres.

And Benjamin for our Campiegn Organizer

As soon as we figured out that we started fundraising. Now, all the parents received a envelope w/ fake money to give to us. This was the fun part ‘cause we went out of the room and fundraised in the vendor hall, we were pretty successful. We had to share our platform w/ the parents and say WHY they should give us their money. So, that part was hard! J

Then, the next day {Sat.} We started to eign and make posters.

That day was the elction day, so, we had to campeign a lot! We spent about all afternoon doing this. Then, the kids in iElect voted and the results were that….. The Gold and Blue teams TIED!!!

 It was the 1st time two teams in the iElect program that the top 2 tied! So that was cool, but at the same time it was aggravating that we didn’t get to know who actually won, but we both won J

We left at like 4:30 pm, and went to the Thompson’s for pizza and to pick up all the siblings that didn’t go to the INCH. It was yummy and I took tons of pictures.

Happiness Is...

Okay, I joined this "Happiness Is" on "Pastor's Girl Ponderings" and here it goes.

Today I held a 2 week old kitten and he yawned and slept in my hand. It was so cute. I remember a time when the only animals I wanted were cats. Yes, cats. I wanted a whole mess of them and they would love me and purr when I petted them. Lately, I haven't thought about it but as i sat and held the kitten {Who, I want to name Skimbleshanks. It's a name of a orange cat in the musical Cats} I remebered my dream of becoming "A cat farmer".

The second thing was having the house all to my self while everyone was away for a Dr. appointment. {I had the house to myself for about 3 hours, but I worked on my chores for most of the time} And I sang one of my favorite song {"Don't Cry For Me Argentina"} just as I had heard it on the recording. I was like "Yessss!"

4. Pass this award on to 15 fantastic bloggers you have discovered. (Only I'm going to change this to 5 bloggers.)

5. Contact your nominations and let them know they’ve won.

Okay, so seven interesting facts about myself:

2. I always wear skirts, I LOVE them! And I think jeans can be boring. I mean there are only so many shades of blue, designs on back pojects and skirts can be in a rainbow of colors and textures. No offense to those who wear jeans, that's just what i think! :D

3. The song most played in my iTunes library in "My Heart Will Go On", by Celine Dion. I LOVE that song :D

4. I think golfing is kinda pointless {Sorry Micah!} Did you know that a avarge golf course uses 2 billon gallons of water to water the grass?! The greens aren't so green after all! :P

5. I don't like Winter too much, even though I live in Michigan.

6. I'm 5'10

7. I know some people won't like this, but; I like to watch episodes of Hannah Montana. That may sound immature but.... I got the complete season 1 of the show, and I loved it!

What I'm Up To

Hi there! How are ya doin'? I great! School's almost out and I can't wait to be done! :)

This morning G and I went to help w/ our friends the Harders dig a ditch at their house that is being built 15 min. away. That was funnnn! We have gotten alot of rain and nasty weather, so all the dirt/mud/clay we dug out went splat when it landed on the ground :P.  When we were done Jenn, Bridget and I went coneoing on the Harder's lake/pond {But the pond is too big be called a pond,so they call it a lake}

then we came home, I had a big lunch {I was pratically starving} and set of to do math on the computer {I do SOS for math}

This Friday and Saturday, Mommy, Daddy, G and I are going to the MI homeschool convention and G and I are doing a Generation Joshua iElect. I'm not to excited to go {No sarcatism}, Mommy said it'll be good for me to go, so I'm going. I hope I have fun! :D

So that's it, see ya latter!

A Lil' Navy Dress...

My latest sewing project was a stretchy navy dress. The knit fabris was kinda hard but, I LOVE the dress!

"Your Hands"

This is a song by J.J Heller, and it is a great reminder that God is still in control!

I have unanswered prayers

I have trouble I wish wasn’t there

And I have asked a thousand ways

That you would take my pain away

You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand

How to walk this weary land

Make straight the paths that crooked lie Oh Lord, before these feet of mine Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking, heaven stands

When my heart is breaking

I never leave your hands

When you walked upon the earth

You healed the broken, lost and hurt

I know you hate to see me cry

One day you will set all things right

Yeah, one day you will set all things right

When my world is shaking, heaven stands

When my heart is breaking

I never leave your hands

Your hands that shaped the world

Are holding me

They hold me still

Mothers Day...

For all you out there w/ moms or are moms.... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!
Mother's day for me has been pretty good.

Our Pastor did a sermon on Jochebed {Moses' mom}, it was very interesting to hear a bit about what Moses' mom felt during Moses' early life. Like setting him adrift in a basket and nursing him for the princess and handing him back to the princess after about three years. And to close the service Brooke {One of the worship team ladies} sang "Your Hands" by J.J Heller, she was amazing! The lyrics are so,so comforting in reminding us that God IS in control!

 After church we had lunch at a restruant and we ran into someone that I would've never expected to see... I'll tell you why:
Okay, our local highschool has a drama department and we go to their Spring musical every year for about 5 yrs. {The musicals we've seen are: Footloose, Les Miserables, Aida, The Sound of Music and Bye, Bye Birdie} Well the last one we saw this Spring was Bye Bye Birdie and it was FANTABULOUS!! And the guy who played the main charecter {Albert Peterson} was sitting at a table w/ his mom I beleive and I figured it out when he turned around and I was like "WAY COOOLLLL!!!" T was asking who he played, {OK T is 3 and she saw the movie of Bye Bye Birdie and really liked it so she got kinda excited}When he and his mom were leaving I told him that he was great in BBB and he looked kinda surprised that I said anything, and was very grateful for my compliment. That was really cool.

Wow! What a long post! But I hope you enjoyed it!

Friendship Blanket

Bridget, Miranda and I sitting on bleachers during the Fair one year

I had a blanket my mommy made me, I had all my friends sign it w/ a Sharpie. Though, not only my friends signed this blanket, my team-mates from the year I played on a basketball team, a favorite baby-sitter and my friends Miranda, Jennifer, Bridget, Emilee and Rachael. Just recently, after not seeing it for 2 yrs., I found it. Oh, all the memories I had of friends that had signed this blanket, I remmembered my end of season party for ther basketball team I was on and my Dad coached, I remembered the sleepover I had w/ Rachaela nd all the fun we had, I remmebered the day Emilee spent at my house when she signed the blanket, Jenn's fancy signature as she signed,and also playing dolls w/ Bridget and Miranda. It reminded me of how truly precious friends are, and also what wonderous gifts they are from God. :D

Bridget's signature...

Emilee's siganture...
She wrote "I <3 you girlfriend, you rock my socks :P"

Rachael's signature
She wrote : "Sleepover Girlfriend!"

Take some time today to talk to or write to a friend and tell them how much you appreciate them :D

P.s. I got a signature!! How do you like it?
