easter week hopes and days 27-28

This week will be special for me. And hopefully it will matter. Yesterday at church my Pastor gave a great sermon on how we can make this Easter week matter and having receptive hearts to spiritual growth that God can do by:
"weeding" out the negative things {like sharpening the focus of what media you intake}
and
"feed" the healthy things {reading the Easter story, talk to Christian friends about what's really important and slowing down}

The ways I'm hoping to accomplish these goals are {and I am in no way trying to appear self-righteous, I am simply trying to share with you all what I am trying to do to be intentional this week!}

I want to "weed":
-Internet time {Facebook, and any thing that consumes valuable time}
-Plan blog posts more effectively {the latest posts have been "blah" and thrown together in a hurry... I want to slow down and plan the posts out}
-And I'm going to try and listen only to the Christian music on my iPod, no secular music... So I can center my thoughts on God and everything about Him...

I want to "feed":
- Reading the Bible this week
- My working out each day
- Efforts in being productive this week {making my Easter dress... I again waited last minute to make it. And with all the time spent offline, I'll be able to finish it quicker!}

What do you think? Are you doing anything special this week for Easter?

Being on a big boat in the middle of the ocean without enough lifeboats when the ship sinks... Big boats scare me!

PuPpIeS, DaIsIeS, AnD LiFe

I’ve just finished something very important….. I just finished middle school today! Well, 8th grade, and next time I crack open the dreaded school books, I’ll be a freshman! *Scary* Well, it feels so good to be done. Though, I still have to do phoenics w/ M, but that isn’t very hard, but takes time.

I was on the woods this afternoon and I love summer! When the leaves sprout out and creates a curtain around the whole woods. God is so great! He’s made the leaves to come out and create a green curtian.I love it! {Well, green is one of my favorite colors. So that’s kind of why I like it so much!}

And the daisies have grown up. The dandelions have ;eft and the daisies have appeared! Dandelions, I really like those. They’re so beautiful to put behind your ear, in your hair and are bright yellow, I love those flowers. {Yes, “flowers”} I have a vase of daisies that I picked in my room, they are beautiful. But they smell nasty! Anyone know how to get rid of their stink?

Here they are on my dresser

And some in the wild.....

And these are some flowers we have in the front flower bed. Idk what kind of flower they are, but they are pretty.

And we’ve gotten a lot of rain lately and the garden and the lettuce are growing like crazy! {So are the weeds I bet}

This is our lettuce in the lettuce boxes

Our neighbor stopped in with her grankids and her grandson had a Beagle puppy that was only a couple weeks old. He was sooo cute!

Sorry, that one is a bit blurry

The project I’ve been working on is the 1910s Tea Gown, and it is going to be beautiful! I just finished pinning the skirts {yes, “skirts”, there are 2 overskirts} together, and I’ll attach it to the bodice soon!

Trying on the bodice……

The back view.

The skirts…..

I’m making the gown for a friend’s wedding, I also was working on this for the wedding aswell. {It’s a present. Shhhhh…. Don’t tell!}

I made a needle point thing that has their names on it and the date of the wedding. I hope they don’t change it ‘cause I’ve sewn it already!

I really like how it turned out!

Here is a picture of one of our chicks on the roosting bar in their house…..

I love how it is just the outlibe of the chick and the details of the ckicken wire.

We had some eggs incubated by our 4-H leader and there was this one chick that had acrooked back. {They dubbed it “Quasimodo from “The Hunch Back Of Notre Dame”} We all thought it would die, but it didn’t and we found out it was a girl so the chick’s name is now “Esmeralda”. We now own Esmeralda , and the other chicks were picking on it so we separated her in one lil’ corner of their house and she’s doing quite well.

This is Esmeralda. All our animals on orur farm {that are named by us} are anmed after literary charecters or charecters from musicals. Such as “Phantom”, “Heidi”, “Christine”, “Aida”, “Meg” and a few others

And I found these scraps laying at the foot of a tree, and I thought they looked interesting….all that rust and silver wire.

And this is our little garden froggy….

Somebody’s flip-flops that were left out….

And I found this sider web with water droplets on it. It was beautiful!

That’s it for now! See ya later alligator {s}!

A Lil' Navy Dress...

My latest sewing project was a stretchy navy dress. The knit fabris was kinda hard but, I LOVE the dress!

Easter Dress

Call it procrastination or really bad planning, but come Good Friday, I had no dress to wear on Easter Sunday. So I spent Friday and Saturday making a dress to wear.
This is the pattern for the dress and the fabric.

And me in the dress on Sunday, Tada!
