I'm In LoVe WiTh A WoNdErFuL....

The title is from the musical South Pacific and Nellie Forbush is singing "I'm In Love With a Wonderful Guy" well, in my case it's different! {A lot different!}

For some of you who know me, you know I don't have any animals personally, my sisters and brother have animals but I don't. And those of you don't know me in person know that know! ;) It's not that I hated them, just that I don't have any. I've been wanting a rabbit deep, deep and deeper still down but I never got one. But I'm now "in love with a wonderful rabbit"!!!

At the petting zoo this week-end I was on my shift w/ some other kids in the club and I was told to just hold a rabbit and advertise it a lil' 'cause he needed to find a home. I stood there wondering how to do it and then Paige got him out and handed him to me and showed me how to hold him {I have basically NO knowledge of rabbits. I did read a whole book on raising rabbits recently} And I held him, he was a beautiful grey splotched on white rabbit and so soft! I held him and stroked him for about 20 minutes. And that's when I fell in love. :D

He was  a full size Rex {6 wks old} for sale at $15 and I could used my allowance to purchase him. I asked mommy after thinking about it all afternoon and she said yes! I was so excited. And we had room for him at home 'cause N has like 5 cages. With trembling hands I paid and signed name in the purchase notebook. I showed Paige the "SOLD" tag on the cage and she asked who bought it and I said me and we both got excited.

That was on Friday and today {Sunday} was the last day of the tractor show and I got to take him home! He is such a sweetie and I love him so much! Right now he's in his cage in the barn all safe and sound. I can't wait to work w/ him and take him to the fair and hopefully win! I'm sorry this post is really rather long but I'm so excited! :) Here are some pictures of him!

Oh! I have another naming dilemma.... again. But this time I have two names and I'll post a poll and you guys can vote for your fave!

I'm SoRrY!

Hello blogger!!!! I've missed all you guys! :) Well, I've been crazy busy this past week w/ out County fair. It was alot of fun! If any of you missed it.....you missed something big! Just kiding.

I did very well on my still exhibits and am very glad. G showed her goats and some of her chickens and N showed her chickens and her rabbit. It was N's 1st year showing her rabbit and didn't do so well. :( G also did speed on a horse. She didn't gallop because she's a "Walk/Trotter" which is aka a kid who hasn't been showing more than 1 or 2 years so they only can walk and trot..... But she did ok.

Here's a schedule on what happened on what days:

Tues. was the 1st day of fair and goats was in the morning. G showed her goats.
Wed. I worked in the 4-H food both :) Working in there is something you do every year and don't like it that much but you have to do it. And  chickens and hogs were shown that day too. Oh! And public speaking. {I did a dramatic reading and loved doing it}I also rode the carnival rides. :)
Thurs. Rabbits were shown and the cows aswell.
Fri. It was pleasure on horses {Western and English} and the rodeo. :) The rodeo was awesome. Since it was Friday night there was a lot of creepy people out and about the fair grounds. I rode some rides w/ my friend Anna. That night was really unsettling 'cause our 4-H leader's youngest daughter went missing for over a hour and another girl's purse was stolen by a druggie. :( We did find Taylor on our way out and I was so gratefull she was ok!
Sat. G did speed and I rode the rides {again} I had a great time and made some new friends :) And I rode a ride I was scared of and I was happy w/ myself. :) It was the last day and I hate last days of things....they are so melancholly. :( But it was a great day!

I took some great pictures but I don't have time to share them all so here are my favs.

“ Lord of mercy, I want to get out of here. Oh my god I want to go home. Let me out……..” Says a old lady wheel chair bound in a monotone voice. But you can tell she’s dead serious. She seems to be a trouble maker.

She tries to exit out the door but sets off a electronic beep, an attendant comes and says:

“Come on Vera, come away from the door. Can you take her back to her room?” She asks another nurse.

“I don’t want to go to bed, let me go…..” Vera complains.

“Come on Vera, put down your feet, let’s go.” The 2nd nurse commands.

“I don’t want to……” Vera says, but gives in later down the hall and helps push the wheel chair along with her feet..

What’s on your list of places you dread most? The hospital, a hospice, a nursing home, a vet office, Dr. office………The list could go on and on. Nursing homes are at the top of my “dis-like” list. But last night I had to go with my family to go a visit a widow who has been having health problems recently. {her husband died 2 1/1 years ago and her health has gone way down after his death.} Any way we went to visit her and I didn’t really like it. I mean she really enjoyed our family’s visit, but nursing homes just are creepy, weird, and sad all at the same time.

Martha {the lady we visited} was so glad to see us. We stayed awhile, visiting. I can tell it meant a lot to Martha. And apparently that nursing home is very good, clean wise and kindness among the workers wise. Martha doesn’t want to be in it, but she’s still too weak to go home. She says that God put her there for a reason and reasons. She mentions that she’s had the opportunity to witness to other people there and is getting stronger, little by little.

We met a another old lady in a wheel chair that came a sat in on our visit with Martha. She was a kind lady with dark hair that had hardly grayed at all, that was cut short. She had sharp observing eyes that watched everything. She also had a brown sweater on over the hospital-like gown. Her shoulders were slumped over. When she tried to talk to my little siblings and in turn my siblings tried to talk but they got embarrassed.

Mommy got on the computer there and showed Martha her blog and I showed her mine. Then it was time to go. D wheeled her back to her room where her sleeping roommate was. She had a little bed with a woven pink blanket on top of her bed. It all looked so snug. We bid her farewell and left.

The scene at the top was really sad…..I mean there you are, a old lady in a wheelchair begging to go out into the world. Back to your family, back to the life you had. But, everyone else know that you aren’t able to go out in the world and be safe. So everyone stops you. Her voice and that scene almost made me cry. I’m glad Grandma Cindy {She was my mom’s mom who had lung cancer. The lung cancer was a result of a terrible smoking habit she had. She died of a H1N1 flu and was unconscious for a while before someone found her. But by then it was too late for her to recover. She spent a weekend in the hospital and by the following Monday, she died.} wasn’t in a nursing home at the end of her life, being like Vera. Trying to get out at every moment. I miss her soooooo much! *sniffle sniffle*

So that was my experience in a nursing home yesterday. Hope you enjoyed, well there’s not much to enjoy on that subject.

 Here’s a misc. picture that I want to throw in…..it’s a bird.  I like this pic alot.

I know this is weird but…what’s the largest library fine you’ve ever gotten? I have a $6.80 one right now {I just paid that one} and I did have a $16.00 one once. Ouch! But I did pay it. ;)

The ducks still haven’t come back…..Keep positive, keep positive….. But they probably not coming back.

Another weird question.....has any one gotten a Frappe from McDonald's? They are so good. If so, what's your favorite kind? Mocha or Carmel?

I have some sad news about our *sniffle*, ducks.... They haven't come home today. They left this morning and haveb't come back. So, it's not a big deal but still......poor ducks  :( I'm sure they'll be home soon!

OuR DuCkS!

We have recently added to our farm.... we've gotten two white ducks. They look like the Aflac duck. Has any one seen those commercials? "Aflac!" :)

This is the book I've been reading and a Silly Bandz on top of it. :)

Has any one noticed a few changes around my blog? i.e. the awesome Century Gothic font??? Well, the awesome Happilyeverafter7 did this makeover and I love it! Check out her blog Little Somethings.

Well, that's it for now. i'm in a rush right now. I'm getting ready for a friend's mini b-day celebration and I'm not quite ready. So toodles!

I’ve just finished something very important….. I just finished middle school today! Well, 8th grade, and next time I crack open the dreaded school books, I’ll be a freshman! *Scary* Well, it feels so good to be done. Though, I still have to do phoenics w/ M, but that isn’t very hard, but takes time.

I was on the woods this afternoon and I love summer! When the leaves sprout out and creates a curtain around the whole woods. God is so great! He’s made the leaves to come out and create a green curtian.I love it! {Well, green is one of my favorite colors. So that’s kind of why I like it so much!}

And the daisies have grown up. The dandelions have ;eft and the daisies have appeared! Dandelions, I really like those. They’re so beautiful to put behind your ear, in your hair and are bright yellow, I love those flowers. {Yes, “flowers”} I have a vase of daisies that I picked in my room, they are beautiful. But they smell nasty! Anyone know how to get rid of their stink?

Here they are on my dresser

And some in the wild.....

And these are some flowers we have in the front flower bed. Idk what kind of flower they are, but they are pretty.

And we’ve gotten a lot of rain lately and the garden and the lettuce are growing like crazy! {So are the weeds I bet}

This is our lettuce in the lettuce boxes

Our neighbor stopped in with her grankids and her grandson had a Beagle puppy that was only a couple weeks old. He was sooo cute!

Sorry, that one is a bit blurry

The project I’ve been working on is the 1910s Tea Gown, and it is going to be beautiful! I just finished pinning the skirts {yes, “skirts”, there are 2 overskirts} together, and I’ll attach it to the bodice soon!

Trying on the bodice……

The back view.

The skirts…..

I’m making the gown for a friend’s wedding, I also was working on this for the wedding aswell. {It’s a present. Shhhhh…. Don’t tell!}

I made a needle point thing that has their names on it and the date of the wedding. I hope they don’t change it ‘cause I’ve sewn it already!

I really like how it turned out!

Here is a picture of one of our chicks on the roosting bar in their house…..

I love how it is just the outlibe of the chick and the details of the ckicken wire.

We had some eggs incubated by our 4-H leader and there was this one chick that had acrooked back. {They dubbed it “Quasimodo from “The Hunch Back Of Notre Dame”} We all thought it would die, but it didn’t and we found out it was a girl so the chick’s name is now “Esmeralda”. We now own Esmeralda , and the other chicks were picking on it so we separated her in one lil’ corner of their house and she’s doing quite well.

This is Esmeralda. All our animals on orur farm {that are named by us} are anmed after literary charecters or charecters from musicals. Such as “Phantom”, “Heidi”, “Christine”, “Aida”, “Meg” and a few others

And I found these scraps laying at the foot of a tree, and I thought they looked interesting….all that rust and silver wire.

And this is our little garden froggy….

Somebody’s flip-flops that were left out….

And I found this sider web with water droplets on it. It was beautiful!

That’s it for now! See ya later alligator {s}!
